Herr von Stockhausen told us that the report was altogether quite unfounded and ridiculous.
I was pleased to hear this.
There is very little news.
Fighting on the Marne seems favourable for the German troops.
I had a long talk with C—and kissed her dear little hand. I wish she would talk more—she pretends to have no imagination at all, but I don't believe her.
She stayed a long time, and we talked right up to 12:0 o’clock.
It is horrible to think how woman [sic] can so easily influence men.
She told me that she liked me as much as she did any man she knew.
I am dreadfully hurt about my Princess—she does not care for me, and I shall have to put an end to all this stupid sentiment!—but is it stupid?
