Tuesday 21st July 1914 Hannover
Took a snapshot of C.
Left by the 12:0 train for Hannover.
Arrived at 4 something in Hannover and mother and the girls took rooms at the Bristol.
I went to Lahmayers again. They were pleased to see me and I was so pleased to see them all again. Lahmayer’s is a splendid place and I always feel quite happy here. Went round to see mother Kathleen and C. They asked me to ask my friends but I told them to wait a day. Went to bed early. Guy went to the P. de. D.
Looked at locket and letter—thought of C.—kissed them and went to sleep.
Wednesday 22nd July 1914.
Took C. some flowers. Rather late for her birth-day but better late than never. I didn’t want to give her anything in front of D., he might have been upset.
