Bade a tender farewell to the Lahmayers with plenty “Auf wieder-wiedersehens”! as P.K used to say. Said good-bye to Lawrence and Harvey. It was hard to leave them, they are such splendid fellows. Guy, Thornton and Des Graz came with me.
I bade them farewell at Kröpke.
Guy has asked me to stay with him in the country when I come back to England after Versailles. I am going to look up Lawrence Harvey, Des Graz and Thornton—they are all at Trinity Cambridge and we are going to arrange to meet each other in the Michaelmas term sometime.
Received a letter from Me Léonard. She expects me on the 5th of August. Mother wants me to stay with her in Berlin till the 15th of September, so that I shall have to write and tell her.
Called for Mother Kathleen & C. at the Bristol. Graf Moltke and Ömigke were there. We had 7 minutes to catch the train—no one ready—but after the most trying ten minutes of my life—we bungled
